Animal free will Tomoe Kusubae
I think people treat animal right
lightly. However they also have free
will as The Story of Janet mention. In
this blogging, I consider the reason why people pay no attention to animals’
free will and show the proof of animal free will.
According to Allen and Linda Anderson, though so
many people see animals as souls, the 53 percents of the people can take care of an animal in their home and
not see a soul there. Even if they have pets, they don’t
recognize that their pets have emotions.
There are many reasons why they have such an idea. As one reason, I show what has been long established was an animal
poked in just such a way will react with the same response every time(Jason Palmer). People thought animals didn’t have mixed
feelings even if they spend much time with animals.
However, animals can learn. To show the
effects of operant conditioning, B. F. Skinner created the Skinner box, operant conditioning
chamber. A rat or other
suitably small animal is placed in a typical Skinner box, and observed during
learning trials that use operant conditioning principles. They come
to press
a lever for food.
When they feel hungry, they can keep off hunger. In addition to that, they can distinguish the
real substance and artificial one. A
gorilla answered that the flower in the picture is not real flowers. The trainer said a flower to her but she
pointed the real flower and told her that the real flower is “flower”. As those examples, they understand many
things so we have to recognize their free will.
